Every action leaves a footprint in the world. This can be determined as well as possible using approximation methods. The value helps to gain an understanding of which activities have a greater impact on the environment and which activities have a lower impact. Often surprising results come to light. In most cases, the total greenhouse gas emissions are used and converted into so-called CO2 equivalents. This is intended to present a more realistic picture of the emissions situation. In Germany, the emission per citizen (regardless of whether they are babies or old people) were around 10 tons last year.
In cooperation with institutes and universities, we have developed a CO2 calculator that is as simple to use and yet as accurate as possible. Are you curious how big your CO2 footprint is? Try it out here
